I'm Shaking My Head

It is 8:00 PM.  It is also 82 degrees.  And we haven't had rain of any consequence in weeks.  We check the weather channel and other sources and eagerly anticipate the various percentages of rain possibilities per the prognostications each week.  :(  But, the April showers have taken residence up the country from us--sometimes, apparently in the form of snow, ice and hail, unfortunately.  It amazes me that what is usually a very wet spring month for us is anything but.

82 degrees at 8:00 PM.  Unbelievable.  For April.  This is not June.  Or did I just forget to turn the calendar over???

Uh . . . you live in North Louisiana, don't you? And have lived there for some time? And you're SURPRISED at this weather?!

I grew up just up the road in South Arkansas, and 80s in April never suprised me. Didn't like it, but was never surprised!

Hasn't the weather been bizarre? Checking out your previous post, I love the concept of pre-grilled chicken for the future - it doesn't last too long around here, because we are fans of "chicken smoochies" - tortillas with chicken and cheese (and the plea for a vegetable) and grilled.

My wv is "mates" - knew I was here.

Hey, Bob! Yes, been living here long enough to know 80's in April are not so rare . . . BUT 80'S AT NIGHT . . . in April . . . not so common. In June, July, etc. yeah. But I'm just whining, because I LIKE COOL EVENINGS. Must come from my Utah roots where even on the hottest days in the valley, we have cool canyon winds in the evenings. I could use some of those now, along with several gallons of water for all of us--especially the farmers and gardeners around here.

Hope you're all have great fun with the pre-wedding gatherings and celebrations up Tennessee way! I'm so happy for you and your family and FDIL. I believe you've got a winner there--just like you do!

Jeanie, you call them "chicken smoochies" we call them quesadillas and they are some of my favorite yummies. Sometimes we add grilled onions and peppers. I've had them with steak also. Love them. And I'm so glad you feel "at home" here, mate. We'll conjure up good eats here now and again! And yes. The weather has run amuck all over the globe, it seems to me!
